Instagram post size for trading cards

Cards are tall, and Instagram crops anything that doesn't fit its shapes. Pick the right size and your slab fills the screen instead of shrinking into a square.

The sizes

• Portrait post: 1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5). The best choice for a single slab. It takes up the most room in the feed.
• Square post: 1080 × 1080 (1:1). Works for two or three slabs side by side.
• Story or Reel: 1080 × 1920 (9:16). Full screen on a phone.

Carousels

Every image in a carousel is cropped to the shape of the first one. If the first is portrait, make them all portrait.

Leave a margin

Instagram's profile grid shows a center crop of each post. Keep the slab in the middle with some space around it so it doesn't get cut on your profile.

Export sharp

Upload at 1080 pixels wide or more. Smaller images get blurry when Instagram upscales them. Grailshot exports in all three shapes, with an HD option at twice the size.
